This is a personal writing site. It sells nothing, runs no advertising, and profiles no one. The short version: unless you subscribe by email or write to me directly, I hold nothing about you beyond anonymous traffic counts.

Last updated 26 July 2026.

Who is responsible

This site is owned and operated by me, Deepak Waghmare, in a personal capacity from Singapore. It is not a Dell Technologies property, it is not operated on Dell’s behalf, and the views published here are my own. Personal data collected through this site is handled under Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA), and I am the data protection contact for it.

Reach me at deepak@deepakwaghmare.com for anything on this page.

What is collected, and why

Traffic measurement

The site records aggregate visit statistics through Jetpack, a service operated by Automattic. This covers which pages were viewed, roughly where in the world the visit came from, and what referred it. IP addresses are used to derive that approximate location and are not retained by me in an identifiable form. I use this to know which pieces are worth writing more of. It is not used to build a profile of you, and it is not linked to your email address if you happen to be a subscriber.

Email subscription

If you subscribe, I hold your email address and the date you subscribed, for the single purpose of sending you new writing. Subscribing is the consent — I do not add anyone who has not asked. I will not sell the list, rent it, share it with a third party for their own use, or send you anything other than the writing you signed up for. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe, which takes effect immediately and needs no explanation to me.

Server logs

The host, Hostinger, keeps standard web server logs — IP address, timestamp, request, user agent — for security and diagnostics. These are generated automatically by the infrastructure rather than by anything I have built, and they are held on the host’s retention schedule.

Comments and forms

Comments are closed across the whole site, so no commenter data is collected at all. There is no contact form. If you email me, I hold that email as I would any other correspondence, and I use it only to reply to you.

Who else touches the data

Three parties, each acting as a processor for a specific job, and none of them licensed to use the data for their own purposes:

  • Hostinger — hosting and server logs.
  • Automattic (Jetpack) — traffic statistics and, at present, subscription delivery.
  • Google Search Console — aggregate search performance data. This shows me search terms and click counts, not people.

These providers operate internationally, so data may be processed outside Singapore. Where that happens I rely on providers that offer contractual protections comparable to what the PDPA requires. If the email provider changes, this page changes with it.

Cookies

The site sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. WordPress and Jetpack may set functional cookies to keep the site working and to avoid counting the same visit twice. Blocking cookies in your browser will not stop you reading anything here.

How long it is kept

Subscriber email addresses are kept while you are subscribed and deleted when you unsubscribe. Traffic statistics are aggregate and retained indefinitely because they identify no one. Server logs follow the host’s schedule. Email correspondence is kept as long as it is useful to the conversation and no longer.

Your rights

Under the PDPA you may ask what personal data I hold about you and how it has been used, ask me to correct anything inaccurate, and withdraw consent at any time. Write to deepak@deepakwaghmare.com and I will respond within 30 days. There is no charge and you do not need to give a reason. If you would rather not write to me at all, the unsubscribe link at the foot of any email achieves the same result for the only data I actually hold.

Children

This site is written for working executives and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes

If what the site does changes, this page gets rewritten and the date at the top moves. Material changes affecting subscribers will be sent to the list rather than quietly edited in.
